Circus can be dated to very early history.In fact to ancient Egypt.It started with the exhibiting of exotic wild animals.As distant lands were conquered the animals were brought back to entertain the masses.So the origins of the circus went hand in hand with empire building.

The origin of the name Circus derives from a "Ring" or "Circle" and in these performed rope dancers,jugglers,acrobats and strong men.These displays were supplimented by fireworks,flaming torches and coloured ribbons.
